JDS Taihō class aircraft carrier

The JDS Taiho was a single ship that was the basis for the hakuryu class. she had a eventfull life. She was commisioned on March 20th 1943. In 1944 she fought in the battles of the philipene sea, the battle of the leyte gulf, and in 1945 sh provided aircover for the yamato during her misson to okinawa. After the war she was modernized along with the hakuryu class aircraft carriers and fought in the korean war, and the vietnam war before being retired in 1980 and being converted to a museum ship
